9 Hacks For Getting In Shape Without Doing A "Trend Diet"
It seems as if every week there's a new "trend diet" appearing out of thin air telling us it's the new, best, ultimate way to lose weight... How exhausting! 😩
Here at Hot Vita, we believe achieving a healthy lifestyle isn't something that requires you to drastically change your diet or lifestyle.
Eating healthy, losing weight, and feeling good shouldn't be an impossible quest reserved for the die-hard gym goers and diet trenders. That's why we've come up with 9 hacks that you can do right now that are easy, practical, and won't make you hate your life 💁🏽♀️
Health Hack #1 - "Gymify" Your Home
Make the most out of your time at home by turning it into a mini gym:
- To help you flex your muscles more often, put a set of dumbbells next to your microwave and do some curls while waiting for your food to heat up.
- Hang a resistance band on the bathroom door and do some strength training while waiting for the tub to fill up.
- Put down a yoga mat next to your bed and do 3 to 5 sun salutations before you go to bed or when you wake up.
Health Hack #2 - Consume High-Quality, Low-Carb Protein Every Day
Muscle mass naturally declines with age.
This usually leads to fat gain and raises the risk of many diseases.
However, this can be slowed, prevented, and even reversed with a combination of strength training and adequate diet.
Strength training combined with high protein foods or protein supplements has been shown to be an effective preventive strategy.
Particularly effective are high-quality, low-carb protein sources, such as whey, which is rich in a branched-chain amino acid called leucine.
Leucine is the most growth-promoting (anabolic) of the amino acids
For this reason, whey protein is effective for the prevention of age-related muscle loss, as well as for improved strength and a better-looking body.
Health Hack #3 - Exercise In Short Spurts
No time to go to the gym every day? No problem.
A new study found that people who did just four to six 30-second sprints reaped the same heart-health benefits as those who did 40 to 60-minute workouts.
Two great ways to get your heart racing:
- Jump rope for three minutes
- Sprint to and from the mailbox three times. If you live in an urban area, sprint blocks sporadically (just pretend you’re running for the bus).
👀Secret Hack: Did you know the more you sweat the more weight you lose? Sweating activates your body circulation and helps get rid of water weight and toxins. Try a thermal hot gel to target specific areas on your body to increase your body temperature and sweat more 💪🏽.
Health Hack #4 - Eat Whatever You Want
Well... not exactly.
But if you’re tired of restricting yourself to just leafy greens, consider eating small portions instead of eating the whole thing.
You don't have to eat salads every day to slim down. Just start small by reducing your portion sizes in half of your... well... happy foods 😄.
Health Hack #5 - Try Natural Appetite Suppressants
Although eating foods that contain fiber and protein may help keep you feeling full, these foods contain calories, and weight loss requires caloric restriction.
However, natural diet pills can offer appetite suppression ingredients that will keep your cravings at bay without involving caloric intake.
Natural stimulants such as Green Coffee Bean contain caffeine which is has been proven to reduce your appetite.
Another great natural remedy is a plant called Garcinia Cambogia. The peel of the fruit contains high amounts of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), an active substance that has been shown to have some weight loss properties
Health Hack #6 - Make A Date With A Movie Star
You wouldn’t dare miss your favorite TV episode. So schedule regular workouts during your must-see TV shows and you’ll work up a sweat and watch the time fly.
If you have equipment at home, slide it in front of the TV.
This is very effective due to the fact that you are associating your gym time with a positive experience that you look forward to.
Health Hack # 7 - Put It In Ink
You stick to the dentist appointments and work meetings that are on your calendar, so why not take the same approach to exercise sessions?
Every Sunday night, schedule them into your weekly planner. To make sure your family members are on board, place the calendar in a common area so they can see it. That way, workout times become public declarations and non-negotiable parts of your routine.
Health Hack #8 - Enlist A Pupper 🐶
Exercising a dog will get your arms and legs pumping. (A Canadian study found that dog owners spend about 300 minutes a week doing canine-related physical activity.)
No doggo? Help a neighbor or volunteer at an animal shelter!
Health Hack #9 - Track Your Steps 👢
Tracking your steps with a pedometer will log your progress and may motivate you (aim for at least 10,000 steps a day).
Simple pedometers measure just steps; sophisticated models track calories burned, distance, and more.
